Dragon US T48 “Patton 48” in 1:35 scale
Finished in 2022. This model was built for a "Patton Tank" group build at our AMPS Central Virginia chapter. This represents a T48 from the first 500 produced. Reference photos and film from the Chrysler Tank Plant were used to document this early production T48 model.
At the time of the build, a boxed plastic model of the T48 did not exist. The Dragon T54E1 hull (early) & suspension and Dragon M48A1 turret were combined to make the model. More accurate resin wheels from DEF were installed, as well as AFV Club T97E1 separate-link tracks. I had an OOP T-48 resin conversion from Chesapeake Model Designs (CMD), which served as an additional donor for parts. Parts unique to the T48 were either robbed from the source kits or made from scratch.
